Mines Strategy: 1, 3 and 24 Mines Tested Over 10,000 Rounds

No Mines strategy beats the house edge: every payout is the inverse of your chance of surviving the picks, minus 1%, so each round returns 99% of the stake on average, whatever the number of mines or tiles. What a strategy changes is how the session plays out, meaning how often you finish in profit and how often you go broke on the way. Below, six popular setups are tested over 10,000 simulated sessions each, and every one can be loaded into the simulator with one click.

Six Mines strategies tested over 10,000 sessions

Every session starts with a 100 USDT balance and a 1 USDT base bet on a 5×5 board. Each round the simulator reveals the same tile pattern and either cashes out or hits a mine, exactly like autobet at a crypto casino. The payout after k safe tiles is 0.99 divided by the chance of surviving them.

10,000 sessions per strategy, 100 USDT starting balance, 1 USDT base bet, fixed random seed so the results can be reproduced. A session counts as broke when its balance can no longer cover the next bet. Load any strategy into the simulator from its section below.

1 mine, 1 tile

The most quoted “safe” setup: one mine on the board, one tile per round, a 96% win rate. Each win pays just 3.1% of the bet and each loss costs all of it. After 1,000 rounds the median session sits at 90 USDT and only 5.2% of sessions are in profit. It is slow, steady and almost certain to finish behind.

3 mines, 2 tiles

Load in simulator

Three mines and two tiles win 77% of rounds at 1.29×. There is more swing than with one mine, so more sessions finish ahead: 28.8% after 1,000 rounds, with the same 90 USDT median and no session going broke.

3 mines, 5 tiles

The coin flip of Mines: five safe tiles out of 22 happen 49.6% of the time and pay 2.00×. It behaves like a flat 2× bet at dice or crash: 38.7% of sessions are in profit after 1,000 rounds, 0.5% go broke, and the median ends at 90.69 USDT.

Martingale on 3 mines, 5 tiles

Double the bet after every mine, go back to 1 USDT after a cash-out. After 100 rounds 51.8% of sessions are up, but 47.5% have already gone broke, and by 1,000 rounds 94.1% have. From a 100 USDT balance, six mines in a row cost 63 USDT and the next doubled bet (64 USDT) no longer fits.

1 mine with loss recovery

Load in simulator

One mine, one tile, and after a loss a bet 34 times larger, which is what a 1.03× win needs to cover the lost bet. It wins 86.2% of 100-round sessions, because a mine is rare and one recovery usually works. But two mines in a row cost 35 USDT and call for a 1,156 USDT bet, and by 1,000 rounds 79.4% of sessions have hit that wall.

24 mines, 1 tile

Load in simulator

One safe tile out of 25: a 4% chance at 24.75×, the same bet as revealing 24 tiles around a single mine. After 1,000 rounds 37.5% of sessions are in profit, many of them far ahead, but 53.1% went broke and the median session holds 0.75 USDT. It is the only setup here where the typical outcome is losing almost everything.

Which Mines setup is the lowest risk?

Fewer mines and fewer tiles mean less variance, not a smaller loss. Every combination of mines and tiles returns 99% of the stake on average, so the 1-mine, 1-tile setup loses the same 1% per round as 24 mines with one tile. The difference is how that loss arrives: in small, predictable steps, or in long droughts broken by big wins. In the test, 80% of 1-mine sessions finished 1,000 rounds between 81.8 and 98.3 USDT, a narrow band that sits entirely below the starting balance.

Mines autobet settings explained

In autobet you select a tile pattern on the board and the game reveals those tiles every round, cashing out if all of them are safe. Number of bets sets how many rounds to play; On win and On loss reset the bet or increase it by a percentage; Stop on profit and Stop on loss end the session at a set result. Only stop on loss limits damage: a profit target changes where a session ends, not what it is worth on average.

The pattern itself does not matter. Mines are placed at random every round, so corners, edges and the centre all carry exactly the same risk; only the number of tiles does.

Does this work on Stake Mines?

Yes. Stake’s Mines, like the Mines originals at most crypto casinos, pays 0.99 divided by the chance of surviving your picks, so the tables above apply as they are. Casinos differ on minimum bets, maximum profit per round and whether bonus funds can be wagered on originals, so check those before playing a bonus through Mines.

Where to play crypto Mines

These casinos run their own Mines originals and accept crypto deposits. Check the bonus terms first: some welcome bonuses exclude originals from wagering.
