No Keno strategy beats the house edge: every risk level and every number of picks returns about 99% of the stake on average, and each round draws 10 fresh numbers out of 40. What a strategy changes is how the session plays out, meaning how often you finish in profit and how often you go broke on the way. Below, six popular setups are tested over 10,000 simulated sessions each, and every one can be loaded into the simulator with one click.
Six Keno strategies tested over 10,000 sessions
Every session starts with a 100 USDT balance and a 1 USDT base bet, using the standard crypto Keno format: 40 numbers, 10 drawn every round, and the Classic, Low, Medium and High payout tables. A round counts as a win for autobet purposes when it pays 1× or more.

10,000 sessions per strategy, 100 USDT starting balance, 1 USDT base bet, fixed random seed so the results can be reproduced. A session counts as broke when its balance can no longer cover the next bet. Load any strategy into the simulator from its section below.
5 numbers, Classic
Classic pays something on a single hit, so 78.3% of 5-number rounds return at least part of the bet, but only 36.7% return 1× or more: one hit pays 0.25×. After 1,000 draws 43.0% of sessions are in profit and the median is 88.50 USDT. The 16.5× and 36× top prizes make the swings wider than they look, and 12.3% of sessions went broke.
2 numbers, Low risk
Low risk on two numbers pays 2× for one hit and 3.8× for both, and 44.2% of rounds win. It is one of the steadiest setups in the test: 38.7% of sessions in profit after 1,000 draws, a median of 89.60 USDT and only 1.3% broke.
4 numbers, Medium risk
Medium risk on four numbers pays nothing below two hits, so 74.4% of rounds lose the whole bet, while the 10× and 100× prizes carry most of the return. That shape produced the widest spread in the test: 34.7% of sessions in profit after 1,000 draws, but 55.0% went broke and the median session held 0.90 USDT.
10 numbers, Low risk
The favourite “safe” setup: ten numbers on Low risk pay from two hits upwards, so 79.6% of rounds win something. Almost all of those wins are 1.1× to 1.3×, though, which is why after 1,000 draws only 25.6% of sessions are in profit. No session went broke, and 80% of them finished between 62.1 and 114.3 USDT.
1 number with +35% on loss
One number wins 25% of rounds at 3.96×. Raising the bet by 35% after every miss means the next hit always wins back the losses plus a little. It works most of the time: 50.3% of sessions are up after 100 draws. But twelve misses in a row, about a 3% chance at any point, push the bet past a 100 USDT balance, and 93.5% of sessions went broke within 1,000 draws.
10 numbers, High risk
The 1,000× setting. High risk on ten numbers pays nothing below four hits, so 80.3% of rounds lose, and all ten hitting happens about once in 848 million draws. After 1,000 draws 37.9% of sessions are in profit thanks to the 8× to 63× prizes for five to seven hits, 29.2% went broke, and the median is 71.00 USDT.
Low risk or high risk Keno: which is better?
Neither returns more. Every risk level pays back about 99% of the stake on average; the levels only decide how that 99% is split between hit counts. Low risk spreads it across many small wins, so sessions drift down slowly. High risk moves it to the top prizes, so most rounds lose and a few win big. The number of picks works the same way: more picks means rarer full matches and bigger top multipliers, not better odds.
Keno odds and top payouts
With 10 numbers drawn from 40, the chance of matching every number you pick falls quickly as you add picks. Here is how that lines up with the top payout at each risk level:
| Picks | All picks hit | Classic top | Low top | Medium top | High top | High risk rounds paying 0× |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 25% | 3.96× | 1.85× | 2.75× | 3.96× | 75.0% |
| 2 | 1 in 17 | 4.5× | 3.8× | 5.1× | 17.1× | 94.2% |
| 3 | 1 in 82 | 10.4× | 26× | 50× | 81.5× | 98.8% |
| 4 | 1 in 435 | 22.5× | 90× | 100× | 259× | 95.8% |
| 5 | 1 in 2,611 | 36× | 300× | 390× | 450× | 91.1% |
| 6 | 1 in 18,278 | 40× | 700× | 710× | 710× | 97.4% |
| 7 | 1 in 155,363 | 60× | 700× | 800× | 800× | 94.8% |
| 8 | 1 in 1.7 million | 70× | 800× | 900× | 900× | 91.1% |
| 9 | 1 in 27.3 million | 85× | 1000× | 1000× | 1000× | 86.2% |
| 10 | 1 in 847.7 million | 100× | 1000× | 1000× | 1000× | 80.3% |
Do hot and cold numbers matter in Keno?
No. Every round draws 10 fresh numbers, and each of the 40 has the same 25% chance of being drawn whatever happened before. Which numbers you pick, and whether they sit in a pattern, a line or a corner, has no effect on the odds; only how many you pick and the risk level do.
Keno autobet settings explained
Risk chooses the payout table and your picks stay the same for every round. Number of bets sets how many draws to play; On win and On loss reset the bet or increase it by a percentage after a round that pays at least 1× or less than 1×; Stop on profit and Stop on loss end the session at a set result. Only stop on loss limits damage.
Does this work on Stake Keno?
Yes. The simulator uses Stake’s Keno format and payout tables: 40 numbers, 10 drawn, and the Classic, Low, Medium and High tables for 1 to 10 picks, each returning close to 99%. Other crypto casinos run Keno originals on the same 40-number format, sometimes with different tables, so check the paytable in the game before relying on a number.
Where to play crypto Keno
These casinos run their own Keno and other originals and accept crypto deposits. Check the bonus terms first: some welcome bonuses exclude originals from wagering.
